- Christina Romer leaving the White House. She seems like a very well-intentioned person who was put in an extremely difficult position with our nation's Economic woes, largely caused by the "W" Bush adminsitration. I think she probably did many positive things and hard work for this country that will largely go unrecognized and under-appreciated. This blog salutes her and hopes she can have personal time with her family now. From "The Swamp"
- The "common man" (or common woman??) fighting against a system tilted in favor of big-bloated banks which want to suck people dry of all they have. Zeenat Ali, a very intelligent girl and a hero for her family and others fighting against the despotic banks. Saving her family from foreclosure. Los Angeles Times
- An interesting article on interest rates on longer-term CDs (certificates of deposit) being cut by the large banks. Worth the read. From Tom Petruno of the Los Angeles Times
- A solid breakdown of Basel III from Douglas J. Elliot of Brookings Institute. If you don't know what Basel III is or understand it, this is the perfect paper for you.
- Very informative story on debt collection and the methods of debt collection from New York Times. Recommended if you have creditors chasing you. Know your rights.
- In the past I have been a big fan of Economist Alan Blinder. I may have to rethink that based on this article. I am very disappointed in Mr. Blinder on this. I guess the system slowly twists peoples. From Huffington Post
- Very compelling and moving video story from Russia. Highly recommended. Short commercial you must wait through at the start. From NYT, but a big big hat tip to Rachel Maddow for this.
- Our Female Vision of The Day. Maya or "M.I.A." Remember to scroll down a little after the jump. From GQ magazine. Have a good weekend, and play safe kids.
